Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Primary School – the Path to Reaching the Top of “Bloom’s Pyramid”

In the article, a complete model of elementary school creativity, innovativeness and entrepreneurship development is presented, based on an empirical study. The topic is relevant to educators, as there is little know-how on the matter. Study results have shown that activities at the observed school represent a complete approach. The physical space supports a creative educational process. Actions express an innovative culture and climate. According to the educators, the two most important innovative personality traits are bravery and the confidence to carry out the invention-innovation process and to support students to obtain innovative skills. In the scope of innovative education, teachers develop creative and critical
thinking, use modern technology, develop the aspect of self-regulatory practise, and organise interdisciplinary teamwork to creatively solve complex problems. In the conclusion, guidelines for practical work in schools are presented. These put a key emphasis on the role of the school’s leadership and teachers in a complete approach to the development of creativity, innovativeness and entrepreneurship in schools. We have established that with the presented model we develop all the levels
of Bloom’s taxonomy, especially the highest ones, and thus prepare the students for life’s challenges.
