Abstract

International project work by students and university faculty represents an important aspect of acquiring knowledge and skills critical to working in a globalised world. Since not all students can participate in international mobility, “internationalisation at home” is also important. The aim of the study was to determine the perceptions of the introduction of the innovative didactic method of multi-perspective online project work among students and university teachers of nursing at Slovenian and Croatian universities. A pilot study using a quantitative approach of surveying students (N = 127) and a qualitative approach of in-depth interviews with students and university faculty (N = 19) was conducted to determine the satisfaction, strengths, and barriers of students and university faculty at the University of Novo Mesto, Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Nursing at University North with the introduction of the teaching method. The quantitative results showed that students from both universities were on average very satisfied with the method, as no statistically significant differences were found between them, and the in-depth interviews revealed the greatest advantage and obstacle of the collaboration.
